A nine generation violin maker, Kurt Lothar Meisel was one of my dear friends and colleagues. Lothar's work reveals an elegance and knowledge only seen in makers who are blessed enough to come from a multigenerational family of violin makers. His instruments are acoustically sound and his varnish has a transparency with a rich golden undertone. These two violins were made in 2000 and 2001 and are fine samples of his work. In 2011 Lothar Meisel passed away, anyone who is able to own or play one of his instruments should consider themselves lucky. Perhaps you could be the lucky person who owns one of these violins as there aren't many more available.

Considered one of the best modern British violin makers of our time, this instrument plays with more ease than most cellos that have come through my shop. The instrument being offered is based on Nicolo Amati and demonstrates a wide range of acoustical color as well as an intensely rich red-brown on light brown varnish. Having spent eleven years as a maker and restorer with W.E. Hill and Sons, Nicholls was able to create a cello that provides one of the best experiences one can have with a modern instrument.
